12-Week Reintegration Programme “Rebound” (KS2)

At Cobras AP, our Rebound Programme is a 12-week, structured reintegration pathway designed to support KS2 pupils back into positive education routines after a period of anxiety, disengagement, reduced attendance, or repeated incidents in school.

We provide a calm, consistent and motivating environment where pupils rebuild confidence, re-establish learning habits, and develop the social and emotional skills needed to succeed back in mainstream or specialist settings.

What the programme includes (KS2)

Over 12 weeks, pupils follow a personalised timetable focused on:

    • Core learning: Reading, writing, phonics/spelling (where needed) and maths in small steps, with regular practice and catch-up.
    • Wider curriculum: Age-appropriate topics (e.g., science, humanities, creative learning) to rebuild curiosity and enjoyment.
    • PSHE / emotional wellbeing: Emotional literacy, friendships, resilience, problem-solving and safe choices.
    • Physical activity: Daily structured activity and sport to support routine, teamwork, confidence and wellbeing.
    • 1:1 mentoring and reflection: Helping pupils understand feelings, triggers and coping strategies, with simple goals they can achieve.

    Our Approach

The programme is underpinned by Therapeutic Thinking and trauma-informed practice,  supporting emotional regulation and relationships alongside learning. We work closely with families and the mainstream school so strategies transfer back successfully.

    Outcomes

By the end of 12 weeks, pupils typically show:

    • Improved attendance, engagement and confidence
    • Better emotional regulation and coping strategies
    • Improved progress in reading/writing/maths
    • A clear reintegration plan agreed with the mainstream school
